Watermelon Merge is a Suika logic-puzzle game that tasks a player with using physics and merge mechanics to combine fruits in a container until they create a whole watermelon. The game features elements of the original Suika game and other merge games like 2048.
The player must evolve small, anthropomorphic fruits into large ones. They start with cherries and strawberries. The evolution cycle then grows to include grapes, lemons, oranges, red apples, yellow apples, pineapples, green melons and watermelon. The player evolves the fruits by dropping one type of fruit on top of a matching type inside a clear container with pink edge piping in front of a wall near a window in a home.
The game also features other goals that the player can track via a horizontal goal line located below a bubble that contains the score and all-time highest score on the upper-left side of the screen. When the bar fills and the player achieves a goal, the words "Watermelon Sugar High!" appear with a splatter of watermelon.
Watermelon Merge provides the player with several tools designed to make merges faster, including a white vertical aiming line, a preview bubble in front of the room's window, a shake option that allows the player to shake the container once for free and with ad viewing afterward, and a semi-circular evolution cycle key. It also makes play more challenging by switching between daytime and nighttime and the seasons.
