Watermelon Game: X-Mas Edition is a Christmas-themed version of the Suika or Watermelon merge-puzzle game that features falling blue and white snowflakes in the background during play. It offers several challenging gameplay modes.
With the main mode, the player's goal is to use their understanding of gravity and various strategies to earn points and merge pairs of anthropomorphic blueberries, strawberries, bananas, oranges, apples, pears, cherries, grapes, coconuts and pineapples in a cardboard box to create a watermelon. The other modes offer unique side challenges. For example, the player solves logic puzzles across 10 levels in the Adventure mode. They must draw shapes to save or merge fruits. It's most similar to drawing-and-skill games like Draw 2 Save Doge, Protect My Pets, Save My Dog and Save the Doge.
Watermelon Game: X-Mas Edition displays a preview of the next fruit to drop at the upper-right corner in the main mode. It shows the order of fruits and the number of matches needed to make new ones on a vertical bar on the right side of the screen.
The player can instantly create a pair of fruits if they watch a video by using a matching fruit button at the center bottom of the screen below the box. They can also force the fruits to shift or roll left or right in a sway similar to how they might move in a real box up to five times in each direction.
