Hexamerge is a match-3, tile-merge game. It challenges a player to earn the highest score possible by matching and merging colorful hexagon-shaped individual tiles and tile shapes on a hexagon-shaped grid. Each tile is labeled like a die with dots instead of numbers. When the player positions three or more matching tiles next to each other, the game merges the tiles and generates a new, higher-numbered tile. The player continues matching and merging tiles until they run out of empty spaces on the grid.
The game offers several tools to help make positioning tiles easier. Near the top-right corner, the next tile available rests inside a circle with rotating arrows. The player can turn a tile shape (two or more tiles) to reposition it on empty grid spaces by selecting this area. If they can't find enough space on the board, they can dispose of the tile or shape in a trash can. They can also use a booster-style hammer to remove a tile from the grid to make room. That said, they must watch advertisements to use the trash can or hammer after the first time.
Hexamerge also offers a leaderboard that the player can attempt to rank on. It only displays the top 10 highest-ranked players.
