Mahjong Fish Connect is a connect-style, tile-matching game with an underwater theme. It also features a separate home-renovation tie-in game.
The player must match pairs of wooden Mahjong tiles and sea-based bonus tiles. They must perform the matches with tiles in side-by-side positions or that connect with a specific number of lines. The player must initially imagine physically creating lines between two matching tiles. They're never permitted to match tiles that connect with four or more lines. Since the gameplay is timed, they must complete the matches before a horizontal green bar runs out of color.
Thankfully, the game also supplies hint and shuffle tools to help make the tile-matching games easier. With the hint icon, the player can prompt the game to reveal a match with a white-pointing glove. With the shuffle icon, they can rearrange the remaining tiles to reveal more matches.
The Mahjong tile games award points that convert into in-game dollars. The player needs 100 points to earn one dollar. They must play one tile game after another until they run out of time or moves. They can increase the final reward with a multiplier if they're willing to watch advertisements. They can also earn bonus money by selecting a green cross in the renovation area.
Mahjong Fish Connect gives the player money to perform a room renovation. After the player earns enough money, they can decorate a gray room. The game allows them to select one of three colors per object.
