Tetrix is a block game similar to Tetris and TenTrix. It features a 10x20 gray board with a white grid. The player's goal is to earn as many points as possible by positioning pentomino shapes on the board in ways that create 10-cell lines. They place each form until they run out of moves.
The game displays the player's all-time highest score and current score to the right of the board. It also displays the current speed of the shapes as they drop from the top of the board and the next shape in line. The player earns the most points by completing a combination move. They set up partial rows of blocks until they can remove multiple lines at one time with one move.
Tetrix helps the player make decisions about how to adjust a shape as it drops by displaying a shadow on the board that matches the dropping shape. It shows the current position of the shape and its estimated final drop spot on the board. The player can allow the shape to drop as indicated by the shadow or adjust the drop. When they make an adjustment, the shadow changes to match.
