Stacktris is a block-stacking, tower-construction game that features tetromino polyominoes. The game simulates a Tetris experience without the confines of an enclosed playfield. Instead, it displays a silver horizontal platform hanging against a dark gray background.
A single tetromino shape rotates above the platform at varying speeds. The player's goal is to halt the shape's movement and drop it as perfectly as possible onto the platform. They must then perform the same task with more shapes to create a tower of tetrominoes. If a single tetromino shape falls or slides off the platform or stack, the game ends and takes an instant-photo snapshot of the final stack's appearance.
This game isn't for someone who has poor hand-eye coordination. Stacktris requires that the player use perfect timing to determine when to stop the spin of a shape. The player must also have the quick reflexes necessary to carefully slide the shape right or left on the playfield to guarantee that it drops in a way that prevents it from sliding or knocking another tetromino shape off the platform.
