Haru Pandas Slide is a block-puzzle game similar to Tetris. Against the backdrop of a sunlit bamboo forest, the player attempts to play as long as possible by sliding shapes made of different kinds of pandas (i.e., black-and-white giant, brown-and-white giant and red, masked, ring-tailed) horizontally left and right on an 8x10 board and grid.
Unlike Tetris, the panda shapes are pushed up the board from the bottom instead of dropped down from the top. That said, the goal is the same. The player rearranges the panda bodies to drop into gaps in rows closest to the bottom to make eight-block lines from the shapes. When they form a line, the game removes it and rewards points. The player keeps playing until they run out of space on the board.
Haru Pandas Slide makes gameplay fun and easy in various ways. For example, it provides a narrow, horizontal preview channel along the board's bottom edge that allows the player to see the positions of the next set of panda shapes. This channel can influence the player's strategies in a positive way. Additionally, the player can eventually use their points to purchase panda boosters near the bottom-right corner that allow them to randomly slice shapes into smaller sizes, destroy shapes based on color, and bomb shapes.
If the player wants to start over at any time, they use the plus sign (+) button accessible via the hamburger menu icon at the upper-right corner. If they fail to stop the shapes from piling up, they can watch an ad video to continue their current game.
