OMG Word Swipe is a connect-style, word-puzzle game. Across nine chapters with 12 levels per chapter, the player connects letter tiles to create words. They might create a single word, a phrase or a list of non-ordered words. They must complete a level to unlock the next one.
The game displays white tiles accented with a mint green horizontal bottom line on each of the letter tiles at the center of the screen. The player must swipe across the tiles in the correct order to generate a yellow line to connect the tiles and create a word. As the player swipes, the tiles turn mint green with a dark green bottom line. The game then places the word in empty spaces under the tiles.
The player must not guess the tiles or words in an incorrect order on most levels. The game displays a horizontal timer bar with three yellow circles that represent stars near the top of the screen. If they guess incorrectly even once, one of the circles turns white, and they lose a star. If they guess all the words correctly without making any tile-selection mistakes, they receive three stars. That said, some levels allow the player to guess words out of order.
OMG Word Swipe rewards the player with points. The player can double this score by watching an ad video. The game also allows them to use the points to pay for hints at an exchange rate of 50 points per hint.
