OMG Word Rainbow is a connect-style word game in which the player draws a continuous line between letter tiles to create one or more short or long words in each level. It features nine chapters with multiple locked levels per chapter. When the player completes a level, it rewards points and up to three stars and then unlocks the next level.
Each playfield displays tiles. The solution to the word puzzle might require the player to use all the tiles to create one word or create multiple words with a specific number of available tiles. In the latter scenario, the game might remove the used tiles. The player then creates additional words with the remaining ones.
The player draws from the first letter of a word to the last with the cursor. They can only draw the line atop the letter tiles and not across any gaps between tiles caused by tile removal. Any time that they make a mistake or fail to create the correct word or words for a level, the horizontal bar at the top-center of the screen decreases in size. These mistakes can cost the player points and stars.
OMG Word Rainbow allows the player to skip an extremely difficult level. They merely need to watch an advertisement.
