Get the Word! is a word puzzle game that requires a wide vocabulary and a lot of guesswork. The player must guess a mystery word before they run out of moves.
The game presents the player with three levels based on easy, medium and hard challenges, represented by vertical bars. Each difficulty level displays six rows of stacked white blank tiles against a gradient green background decorated with letters. Based on the difficulty level, the tiles extend four, five or six spaces across, respectively.
The player uses the onscreen virtual keyboard to enter letters as words on the tiles. The game provides the player with clues based on the letters they use for each word. If a letter turns gray, it's not a letter in the mystery word. If it turns yellow, it's one of the letters in the wrong spot. If it turns green, it's in the correct spot.
Get the Word! only provides the player with six chances to guess the correct mystery word. It tracks the player's wins, defeats, win percentage, current streak, and best streak.
It's important to note that this game doesn't recognize names or plurals as legitimate words.
