Outspell is a spelling game that utilizes elements of classic Scrabble, Word Search and other word-based games. It challenges a player to play against the system across Easy, Medium and Hard modes on a Scrabble-style board that features blank and points-multiplier spaces.
The player receives six tiles in an area below the board. Each tile is assigned a points value. The player's primary objective is to achieve the highest score by crafting words using their initial tiles and new tiles they receive from a bag until all the tiles run out. They create words by building off at least one of the previous letters on the board. If they struggle with the spelling of a word or need help to come up with one, they can use a dictionary to confirm the available options.
Outspell features two types of multipliers. The blue space multiplies the value of the letter on it. The red space multiplies the sum of all letters in a word connected to the space. They also receive access to a blank tile that they can use as a wild card to represent any letter in the alphabet.
