Arkadium's Codeword is a wild-and-wacky, crossword puzzle game that throws out traditional gameplay. Instead of using phrase or question clues, it tasks a player to guess the correct words in the puzzle based only on the positioning of a few preset letters and the automatic updating of empty spaces across words with letters in a Jeopardy-style fashion.
All letters in the game have an unknown number value associated with them. The player guesses a word, a letter or letters based on the preset letters inserted by the game as clues at the start of play. They select an empty space marked with a number and a blue, highlighted letter from the right of the puzzle.
When the player updates the crossword with their guess, the letter appears in all other empty spaces throughout the puzzle that are labeled with the same number. After new letters fill the puzzle, they can more easily guess other letters and words. They also receive access to a cheat tool marked with an eye icon that provides them with the correct letter for any empty space they select with their cursor.
Arkadium's Codeword offers daily games. It tracks errors, completion score, time, time bonus and puzzle score at the end of each one. It also keeps a running total of all points acquired in a month. Lastly, it gives the player an option to print out any puzzle for offline enjoyment.
