Daily Crossword is a word-puzzle game that features classic newspaper crossword puzzle elements with online extras. The player must determine the answers to the clues across rows and columns to win. They can play the puzzle for the most current date or use the calendar icon near the top-right corner to access previous days and months.
The game presents the empty answer spaces on the left side of the screen and the Across and Down columns with clues on the right side. That said, the player can reposition the clues to the left of the spaces by using the gear near the top-right corner to access the settings. On the same menu, they can turn the timer near the top-left corner off or on or alter the keyboard navigation within the puzzle.
Daily Crossword allows the player to zoom in and out by using (+) and (-) signs, respectively, near a magnifier icon above the empty puzzle spaces. The player can also reveal hints or auto-check letters, words and the puzzle. They can even clear a word, the entire puzzle or the puzzle and timer together. They can also print the puzzle with or without their answers and a solution via a printer icon at the top-right corner.
How to play:
Review the Across and Down clues. Select a clue to highlight the row or column with yellow in the first space and light blue in the other spaces. Type the answer. Reveal one or more hints or clear answers. If necessary, watch an advertisement to earn hints.
Controls:
Keyboard: Daily Crossword requires a keyboard. Select a row or column and type the word. The game automatically enters each letter into an empty space. To delete one or more letters, use the Spacebar.
Mouse: Click buttons, clues and icons. To switch between the Across and Down options, double-click a square in the desired row or column.
Mobile: Tap buttons, clues and icons. To switch between Across and Down, double-tap a square in the desired row or column.
