Skate Hooligans is an infinite running game set in an urban cityscape that requires skillful maneuvering and hand-eye coordination. A little hooligan or troublemaker on a skateboard named Max accidentally breaks a window with a ball while listening to music on head wireless headphones and now a beat cop is after him!
The player's primary goal is to help Max escape from the cop for as long as possible while collecting coins and other items that can continue to aid him. The game makes it extremely difficult for the kid to get away. He must race into oncoming traffic on a busy street and try to bypass construction barriers and parked and moving vehicles. If the hooligan hits anything, he dies or the officer catches him, which means that the player loses and must start over from the beginning. The player then attempts to beat their last best score and reach new parts of the city, including the Subway, Amusement Park and Airport. They can review their score on a leaderboard and connect with friends on Facebook.
The player can use collected coins to upgrade their skateboard and unlock more than 20 additional hooligan characters. They can also collect multipliers that increase their coins, items that help them earn rewards and boosters that make it possible for the kid to continue to race through the city. For example, the game prompts the player to complete missions, such as collecting a certain number of coins before the end of a run, to earn a booster or multiplier. With boosters, they can find magnets to attract coins to the hooligan so that he doesn't have to skate through each one to collect them. They can also pick up a ride with a taxi to bypass a difficult part of the game.
