Extreme Run 3D is a levels-style three-dimensional racing game that features a ball instead of a stickman or other character, vehicle or some type of non-rolling object. The player's only goal is to keep the ball on the track until the end of each level. The game features 11 levels.
The player can start via a play button or level button selection. The ball rolls forward the moment the player accesses the race area. The track features a black background color highlighted with bright neon-colored lines spread out as a grid that covers the track and makes the edges of it easier to see. The race occurs in the depths of space, with a starfield against a black background as the upper half of the backdrop and a dark blue solid background as the lower half of it.
Extreme Run 3D requires the player to direct and maneuver the ball away from, over or around obstacles, such as sudden gaps between sections of the track and irregularly designed edges.
