FireBlob, an arcade-style, puzzle platformer, provides 28 levels of fun gameplay maneuvering a cute blob of orange-red fire around on platforms of stone and ice built high in the sky among white- and lilac-colored clouds.
The player's primary goal is simple: They must help the fire blob light campfires.
Yet, the game makes their mission increasingly difficult with each new level. The player must move the fire blob quickly or risk losing the ability to move through a level. The only way to advance is by using white- and blue-striped blocks of ice to reach speckled-blue stone platform areas. If the player allows the blob to melt these blocks too much before helping it jump to a stone platform, the blob falls and dies and the player must restart the level. The same is true if the blob falls on or touches a spiked stone. Other blobs pose a danger to the fire blob as well, including slow pink blobs and fast green fire ones. The fire blob dies if it touches one of these blobs.
A player must possess great hand-eye coordination and dexterity to move the fire blob. They need to accurately gauge the distance between a thin or thick block of ice and a stone pillar or steps and make the blob jump and move toward the stone area at exactly the right time so they don't miss it. They must sometimes move the blob to an upper platform to light wood to make a campfire and then jump down to a lower one rather than light the fires in order based on the fire blob's starting point. In later levels, they also need to press buttons to activate metal platforms.
