Gravity Glide is a three-dimensional infinite runner that combines a ball with real-world physics in fantastic, high-in-the-sky platform settings. The player's primary goal is to keep their ball rolling safely on a wide variety of two-tone blue checkerboard surfaces in the sky for as long as possible.
Although the game features an Easy mode in addition to a Hard one, the Easy mode isn't actually easy. The player must direct the ball to roll around blocks, walls, giant mallets and other obstacles. They must also keep it from sliding off inclined surfaces or rolling off the surfaces of winding and zigzagging bridges between platforms that look like city buildings and other structures.
The player must use a precise touch on the controls when directing the ball's movements. If they fail to press the control keys long enough, they might allow the ball to slam into an object. If they press a key too long, the ball inevitably rolls off an edge into the open air. In either of these scenarios, the player must start the entire game over in a different part of the city or watch an advertisement to revive their current position and play.
Gravity Glide initially provides the player with a basic multi-shade blue ball. The player can purchase additional blue or blue-and-yellow-patterned balls with the points they earn after each run. They need at least 500 points to start buying new balls.
