BoBoiBoy Galaxy Run is a running, side-scrolling platformer based on the popular Malaysian BoBoiBoy children's animated television series. The player starts out as BoBoiBoy Fire. They can eventually use in-game energy points to upgrade to other superhero versions of BoBoiBoy (Lightning and Earth) and other characters (Ying and Fang).
The premise of the gameplay is simple. The player directs BoBoiBoy or another character to run, jump, slide and dash through a wide range of terrains and levels. The character might need to run through a desert, an industrial zone or a swamp. During the run, the game tracks the character's distance. When the player inevitably makes a mistake or fails for some other reason, they must then attempt to beat their last-best distance.
That said, the game also features missions and achievements that the player accesses with energy points that they collect on the run and via daily rewards. Their missions, which appear as gray horizontal strips that slide onto the screen at the start of a run, might include orders to destroy a specific number of enemies or bombs or reach a specific distance.
BoBoiBoy Galaxy Run presents the player with a lot of obstacles, including sand and water pits, purple, spiked crystals and various enemies. That said, the player can overcome most of them by directing the character to jump or dash. He automatically fires a weapon at enemies.
