Mahjong Quest: Candyland Adventures is a tile-matching game set in a magical land made entirely of candies and other treats. After a young, pink-haired schoolgirl turns off a dessert-making machine at a candy factory, a portal sucks her into a new, exciting world that features many unique sweet-themed lands for the girl and player to explore.
In the first region, the player moves level by level along a path that features summertime snacks as landscape elements, such as cake pop trees, nut roll field bales, pie and donut landmarks, and cake and soft ice cream buildings. Other regions use chocolate, frozen dessert, hard candy and gelatin structures to represent specific types of real-world landscapes and hot and cold climates.
The player's main goal is to help the girl match pairs of yummy identical treats displayed on layers of white tiles that hang midair in each level. They can only match uncovered tiles. That said, they can also do more than match these tiles. Unlike similar games, this game allows them to match tiles positioned between other tiles as well.
Mahjong Quest: Candyland Adventures challenges a player in several ways. They must guess the locations of potential matches below uncovered tiles. They must complete a level before time runs out. The game gives them a hint button, but they must also watch advertisements after they use it the first time.
