Mahjong Deluxe is an online game that you play right through your browser. You start by hitting the play button in brown towards the bottom of the screen.
You start by picking one of the game boards. These game boards include different difficulty levels as well.
For example, the “Classic” board says that its difficulty level is “Medium” at the top. The board marked “Monument” is “easy,” and the one marked “Pyramids” is “hard.” There's also the easy Arena, Four, which is medium, and The Wall which is Hard.
If you've never played before, you may want to pick an easy board.
Then, once you've picked your board, what you want to do is match the different symbols together. Every time you score a match, the label marked “Bonus Time” at the top of the board starts to go down. If you can keep that bonus time going, then you can add that score to your own after you finish the entire board. You also can see your score in the upper left which will tell you what your current points are in general.
You'll need to keep a sharp eye out though because some of the pieces look the same but are actually a little different. There happens to be quite a lot of fine detail on every piece. The light bulb or other option will allow you to get hints but you will lose points. You can use the button with the arrows to make the screen fill up with the game, you can toggle the sound on and off with the speaker icon, and there's also a button to replay the game.
This type of Mahjong is a game of pattern matching as well as memory and speed. It can be even a bit harder than normal too if you've played memory games before because classic Mahjong has pieces that are not in English. They are in a different language, so you will have to pay extra close attention to match everything together due to the fine detail and you're lack of familiarity with the game. If you do recognize the language, then you may have played this game before, in which case, do what you can to keep beating your high score.
Tiles will often come in stacks, so you won't be able to use the bottom stacks of tiles until you match the ones on top.
