Wood Block Classic is a traditional block-puzzle game that features a light-colored wood frame and an 8x8 grid of squares carved with lines into a dark wood background. It challenges the player to earn the highest score possible by dragging polyomino shapes to the board to create rows and columns of 8-block lines.
The player receives three shapes with each round of the game. They must place all three before the game provides them with more shapes. The game rewards the player with the highest points per round when they complete a combo maneuver by creating two or more lines at the same time with one final placement of a shape. For example, the player might complete three side-by-side lines or one or more rows and columns that connect.
Wood Block Classic displays the score to the right of a golden trophy icon above the grid. When the player completes one or more lines, the game displays motivational words and the score for the specific move. If the player runs out of empty spaces to place shapes, the squares on the grid turn silvery gray. The player's goal is to then beat the best score displayed to the left of the trophy.
