Idle Restaurant Tycoon is a block-world-style, semi-idle city restaurant simulation game. The player's goal is to take on the role of a restaurant owner and manager at a new establishment, attract customers, grow revenues, and make the site the best restaurant throughout the region.
The player starts by following an on-screen guide during a tutorial with blue arrows. They learn the basics of running a restaurant. For example, they must hire an administrator to manage the front, a waiter to take and serve orders, a chef to prepare the food, and a washer to clean dishes. They must also buy additional tables and eventually add new sections and other furniture.
The game provides them with a starting bank of $1,000 cash and five purple diamonds. They can earn more money by watching ads using the shopping cart button on the right side of the screen or multiplying their earnings with an ad view button. They also receive funds when they complete missions and access a rewards area by using the clipboard button.�
Idle Restaurant Tycoon runs in a semi-idle fashion when customers arrive, and hired characters perform tasks on their own. The player also earns stars for their achievements. To gain any revenues, they must complete tasks during timed play and think strategically before taking actions. For example, they can earn a higher income by adding more tables, decorating the restaurant, and allowing customers into a family room. They can also add parking spaces and open outdoor dining areas.
