Idle Miner Space Rush is an online multiplayer with a mining colony theme set in space. Although the title suggests that it's an "idle" game that requires little action on the player's part, it focuses on incremental action that requires a player to work and grind to achieve wealth and a high score.
The player's primary mission is to dig through the ground with a shovel and mine valuable moonstones with a pickaxe before they run out of time or another player mines their find. They also need to locate underground bases to store their moonstones. Over time, as the player accumulates wealth through various reward systems, they can upgrade the tools to help their character dig and mine faster. They can also upgrade the appearance of their miner's face, suit and bag.
Since Idle Miner Space Rush is a multiplayer game, the player's additional mission is to compete against other players within their own country and worldwide. If the player does well, they can also achieve top status on daily, weekly and all time leaderboards and a three-tier platform. During gameplay, they can also speak to other players with words and phrases like "Good Game!," "LOL," "Nice!," "Oops!," "Thanks" and "Wow!" via emoji.
