Peggle Online is a bubble-shooting game of chance that features balls in a pachinko-style setup instead of rows of hanging bubbles. Against unique fantasy backdrops, the player's attempts to remove every red ball and bar in a level with metal balls shot from a cannon. They also attempt to earn the highest score possible.
The player directs the aim of the cannon located at the top-center of the screen with a dotted targeting line and then shoots a tiny, medium or large metal ball down into a playfield made of balls and bars of different colors. When their projectile hits a ball or bar, the latter issues points or other rewards, changes in appearance, and then disappears from the field.
The game displays the number of available balls per level in a left-side ball counter. Any time a ball falls into a moving cup that slides left and right across the bottom of the field, the player can reuse the ball. Otherwise, they only have ten chances to remove every red ball or bar. If they hit other objects that have different colors, they receive multipliers and other rewards. For example, if they hit a pink ball or bar, they receive two times the points. If they hit a green one, they receive a larger, powered-up ball. The game tracks multipliers with a gauge on the right side of the screen.
Peggle: Bubble Evolution gives the player extra balls if they run out and they're willing to watch an ad. Every time they win a game, they also receive up to three gold coins embossed with stars.
