Garden Idle is a peaceful idle-clicker game with a gardening theme that gives a player the opportunity to plant seeds, maintain a garden, pick plants and accrue an income.
The player is presented with a 5x6 grid. They start the game by buying their first seed packet with gold coins. The game plants and grows the seeds automatically. Over time, the player can buy a wide range of plants and plots of land. They can help the garden management processes by using purple coins to buy upgrades, such as speeding up the seed-planting rate, increasing the radius of the mouse when picking, reducing the cost of seeds and doubling plant profits when watering a field. These upgrades include a potential surprise chance for seeds to grow instantly.
The cost of everything goes up every time the player performs an action. That said, the game offers the player many idle ways to acquire funds faster. For example, they can buy an automatic picker and even an automatic watering can. They receive a 2x multiplier and other rewards when they watch advertisements as well.
Garden Idle also offers achievements. The player earns them when they meet certain goals, such as earning a certain amount, buying a certain number of seeds or performing every upgrade. It also offers a Prestige level that allows the player to keep their achievements and double their income if they agree to reset the game.
