Planet Clicker 2 is a space-themed idle game that challenges a player to unlock the energy of the solar system one planet at a time. The player starts with Earth. They later unlock Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in one direction and then Venus, Mercury and the Sun in another direction.
The player achieves their goals by producing energy via their incremental actions. The game also offers them ways to generate this energy automatically. After they earn so much energy manually, they can use the energy to buy tools that generate a certain amount of energy automatically every second. They can also produce energy and even water by watching advertisements that provide a specific amount or a multiplier that increases existing or future energy and water by a specific amount.
As the player advances in the game, they unlock additional technology to improve their energy and water production, such as farms and power plants. Once they unlock other worlds, they can explore nuclear and alien energy sources. The game also offers a massive energy bonus if the player decides to choose a rebirth option that makes them restart the game almost entirely from the beginning.
Planet Clicker 2 allows the player to track their progress at any point during the game, including their total energy, total spent energy, total water, total spent water, number of clicks and amount of time playing.
