Console Idle is an incremental game that pits a player against an attacking AI known as G.A.I.A. The artificial intelligence is trying to take over the player's console. They must use the power of the click to make enough in-game money to prevent it from taking over.
The game presents the console as a classic black screen with fluorescent green, framed windows and text, and warnings in red. Once the player is registered on the system, they gain access to multiple interface windows that allow them to perform various tasks on the console. For example, in the Console window, they receive messages. The Clicker window provides them with the one spot on the screen where they perform clicks to generate in-game money credits.
The Hardwares window shows them the types of hardware available that can help them perform better. For example, a router auto-generates 1,000 credits per second. A PC generates 7,000 credits per second. The Softwares window shows the type of hardware the player owns and available software enhancements.
The Systems menu outlines all of the resources and status of the systems for tracking purposes. The player must perform in specific ways with the systems in relation to the CPU, GPU and RAM. They must also prevent the console from overheating and overcooling.
Console Idle makes gameplay even more interesting in several ways. The player can win rewards by watching ads and completing tasks. The game also features 260 achievements.
