2020 Tetris is a block puzzle game similar to wood-block puzzle games that require a player to use Tetris polyomino shapes to create horizontal row and vertical column lines to earn coins and points. The game features a 10x10 two-tone checkered board. It displays three colorful shapes below the board at a time.
The player selects and drags each shape onto the board. They earn the most rewards if they form semi-completed lines and then perform a combination maneuver (i.e., they place one shape to complete multiple lines). When the player completes one or more lines, the game makes the squares of a line burst into stars and then releases coins.
If the player runs out of moves on the board, they can pay to use special booster-style tools to continue their play (i.e., Change Figures: 50 coins; Clear One Field: 20 coins; Clear Type: 70 coins; and Clear Area: 100 coins). For example, a booster might remove a single block from the board or remove all of the blocks in one spot.
One of the best aspects of 2020 Tetris is that the game doesn't severely penalize the player for failure. The player can keep the coins they earned from previous rounds. They must only rebuild their points to beat the score displayed on top of a trophy icon.
