Wild West FreeCell is a wild solitaire game based on classic FreeCell. The game's cards feature cartoon-style art that depicts imagery associated with Wild West culture. The background, normally a tabletop, features a dry gulch.
The player can select Easy, Hard or Very Hard for the mode of play. They then rearrange the face-up cards displayed in columns at the center of the field into four build piles by suit in the foundation area that features cards marked with tin sheriff's stars. They can use the spaces marked with skulls to move four cards at any time out of the way to make accessing other cards easier.
The game requires that the foundation builds start with the Aces and ascend upward (A, 2, 3, 4, 5...) until the King is the last card displayed atop each pile. The player accomplishes this task by creating column builds of non-suit, descending cards (K, Q, J, 10, 9...) in alternating colors to reach the Aces and expose cards needed to complete foundation piles.
Wild West FreeCell offers several tools that help the player with their task. For example, the player can use double pistol cards to shift any card from the top of a column build to the bottom, which makes lower-value cards stuck under higher-value cards more accessible. They can also undo their last move, receive a hint about the next potential move and reshuffle all the cards in a column.
