Street Food Inc. is a restaurant simulation game that features incremental play. The player attempts to run a successful food stand on the side of a busy street. Their goal is to continuously grow their revenues and expand their stand and selection of foods.
In the beginning, the player uses their revenues to level up beef steaks to cook on grills faster and expand the number of grills. They also perform upgrades to accept more customers and hire extra workers. The game challenges the player by increasing the costs related to these upgrades over time. If the player leaves the game, the worker characters continue to auto-perform customer service tasks to generate revenues in an idle fashion. The player doesn't need to repeatedly click the screen to generate revenues like with other clicker incremental games.
Over time, the player sets up stands in other worlds that accept more customers and allow a wider selection of foods. For example, they can upgrade from one table and beef steaks to two tables and apples and tomatoes. To accept more customers, they use upgrades related to various tasks, such as using Instagram ads, hiring a worker to hand out flyers, creating a Pinterest account, and using a YouTube channel. Like other idle games, these actions don't actually appear onscreen. Instead, more customers automatically arrive at the stand. That said, the player can use their cash to actually hire extra workers and process food faster.
Street Food Inc. eventually offers premium food upgrades that allow the player to use multipliers to earn more profits. They can also watch ads to earn money.
