Solitaire Mahjong Farm is a Mahjong-style tile-matching game that challenges a player with the task of removing layers of wooden tiles depicting farm-related images from a green, grassy background. They must remove uncovered matching tiles with at least one open side in pairs as quickly as possible to earn the most points before they run out of time. The game has a 15-minute timer.
The farm-related images on the tiles display items commonly seen in an agricultural setting, such as plants, animals, fruits, produce, weather conditions, tools and farm sheds. Each tile is worth a specific number of points that increase by 5 points per group, respectively (i.e., 5 for plants, 10 for animals, 15 for fruits, 20 for produce, 25 for weather, 30 for tools and 35 for sheds). The current points at any time appear at the top of the playfield next to an image of gold coins.
Solitaire Mahjong Farm reveals other details at the top of the field, including the button for a menu, the timer, the number of potential matches, and the number of completed matches. If the player agrees to watch an advertisement, they can use a hint button labeled with a light bulb icon to reveal a matching pair.
After the player completes a puzzle, they receive details about their game. For example, they learn the name of the Mahjong puzzle pattern, their points level, their final score and their best score for all games.
