Papa's Hot Doggeria is a simulation game that contains semi-realistic food-service elements. A player via their avatar (Taylor, Peggy or a custom worker) loves baseball games. They're eager to get season tickets to watch baseball at the Griller Stadium in Tastyville. When they discover that the tickets have sold out, they decide to apply for a job at Papa Louie's hot dog stand located inside the stadium after seeing a poster that declares the location the "best seat in the house." What they don't realize is that the popular restaurant, which sells hot dogs, drinks and popcorns, always has large crowds that block the view of the field.
The player is the restaurant's only employee, which means that they must quickly work every area, including the stations for accepting customer orders, grilling the hot dogs, adding toppings and preparing side items. The player is only paid via tips. They also only advance in their career if they receive great reviews from customers for the quality of their service. As a result, they must perform extremely well. For example, they need to grill both sides of every hot dog and apply toppings evenly. They also receive new customers and ingredients based on their performance.
The game features several side tasks. The player earns tickets from each order that they use to earn prizes playing mini games. They're also responsible for renovating the restaurant. They must use their meager tips to purchase new wallpaper, flooring, posters, furniture and other upgrades.
