Papa's Games, like Papa Louie restaurant locations, all share historical similarities. Papa Louie, a celebrity Italian chef, built a food-service empire based on providing fast-food-style services with a wide range of foods, beverages and desserts. Although the initial games were dungeon-style platformers, they eventually became food-service, time-management and restaurant-simulation games, starting with Papa's Pizzeria. The opening of each installment sets the story for that particular game. The player, as an in-game avatar, always becomes a manager and worker at a Papa Louie restaurant. Their employment results from winning a contest, experiencing an emergency, or falling prey to a trick by Papa Louie or one of his enemies.
Gameplay
Papa's food stands, shops and sit-down restaurants typically feature similar stations, including an order counter that doubles as a cash wrap, a raw material preparation area, one or more baking, cooking, frying or grilling zones, and a spot to plate items and add side dishes, toppings or drinks. Each game starts with a walkthrough that makes it easy for the player to know how to perform the required tasks at these stations.The player picks one of two avatars or customizes their own character.
