Papa's Pastaria is another restaurant game in the Papa's series. The player, via their in-game character (Doan, Utah or a worker they create from scratch), wants to go to the wedding of Edoardo and Ulga in Portallini. Yet, all of the hotels are sold out of rooms. When they use an online search to find any accommodation, they're told that Papa Louie has a room at his Papa's Pastaria location near the canals. Although the character must agree to the terms and conditions, they reserve the room without reading the contract. Almost instantly, a package arrives at their home that contains a uniform and plane ticket reservation that requires that they leave immediately.
In Portallini at the Papa's Pastaria, the player finds out that they must work at the restaurant in exchange for the room. They must take orders, boil the pasta, plate everything perfectly and toast garlic breadsticks in a conveyor oven. They also learn that they're only paid in tips that they must use to upgrade the restaurant's equipment, flooring, furniture, wallpaper and posters. If customers review the player positively, they receive the highest review scores and tips possible. They also earn tickets that they can use to play mini games that reward them with clothing and upgrades for the location. At the end of the day, they might earn a promotion, receive new ingredients or find out that they have a new customer.
