Papa's Burgeria, a restaurant simulation game, asks a player to help run a burger joint owned by Papa Louie. The player can choose to play new employees Marty or Rita or Papa Louie.
The game offers a lot of onscreen instructions to guide the player through gameplay at the order, grill and build stations. Once a customer arrives, the player takes their detailed order down on a ticket, adds the ticket to an order line, grills the patty or patties to the customer's desired temperature, builds the burger with a sesame seed bun and fixings that might include tomato, lettuce, onions, pickles, cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo or barbecue sauce.
If the player completes everything correctly, the customer cheers and gives them a huge tip. They also earn points. At the end of the day, the game adds up the tips and points. The player receives promotions (Trainee, Cashier, Burger Builder, Part-Time Cook and Grill Cook) based on the total points. They also receive access to a file about customers that outlines order preferences.
Papa Louie expects the player to use tips to upgrade the restaurant. They can invest in community and shop promotional posters, a warming lamp that keeps patties warm longer and yellow, blue and red burger temperature gauges. They can also improve customer wait score with various items, including a TV, newspaper stand, arcade cabinet, gumball machine, jukebox, doorbell and coffee stand.
