Knife Rain is a knife-throwing game that tests a player's hand-eye coordination skills. It's similar to the popular Knife Hit and Knife Smash games. It features three distinctive modes. It has a robot factory theme, a haunted house theme, and an unlockable timed mode.
The player's goal is to use up all of the knives arranged as a vertical column near the bottom-left corner by throwing them at a rotating object, such as a cut tree trunk disk, a robot head or a monster head. They must throw a knife or other object with great timing and precision. If they perform this task without hitting a knife already in place on the object, they can move on to the next level. If they fail, they must restart.
As they progress through the game, the player also slices whole apples. When they have enough apples saved up as in-game currency, as noted near the upper-right corner, they can unlock up to 78 additional knives and other pointy objects, such as an arrow, a fork, a closed umbrella, a screwdriver, a swordfish and even a crooked wooden broom.
Knife Rain rewards the player with a present after they reach specific achievements in the game.
