Funkee Worms is a block puzzle game similar to Tetris that replaces standard polyomino shapes made of blocks with heads and bodies of worms. As with the classic, this game randomly drops the shapes. The player must arrange the worms on a 10x8 grid of blocks to create lines that horizontally fill all 10 blocks that run from the left side of the board to the right side.
The player can use a vertical, column-style spotlight to help them place the worms accurately. Whenever they complete a line, the game removes it from the board and rewards them with coins. They continue to play as long as possible. If they allow the worms to pile up vertically to the top of the board, the game ends.
Funkee Worms allows the player to use their coins to add an extra eleven worm characters to the board. For example, some worms have stripes and wear sunglasses. The player can also upgrade the game's background theme with up to four different designs (i.e., worms, triangles, smiley faces and stars).
