Fairyland Merge and Magic is a kingdom-building game with a match-3 component. A player must help a fairy named Violet pass an exam by merging similar items, clearing fog from the island, building new structures and upgrading preexisting ones.
The player can play as a guest or register to connect with friends online and save their progress. They must merge three identical flowers to add Violet to a checkerboard grass landscape. Afterward, they can merge anything on the landscape that isn't a standalone item like the shop or designed to disappear with repeat uses like objects on yellow pillows.
With each new merge, the player creates something fantastic, such as coins from copper ingots and huts and houses from cookies. They can also create grape plants that produce grapes that they exchange for magic keys that remove the fog and unlock new areas.
Violet's mentor, Fairy Godmother, tells her that a prince has also intruded on their land. If Violet finds him, she will automatically pass her exam and become her mentor's assistant. Fairy Godmother teaches Violet different ways to make this happen faster, including combining potions known as multicolor to create larger objects and using coins and gemstones to buy helpful items. Violet even receives free items by merging five or more items and opening treasure chests.
