Epic Army Clash is a military strategy game that tasks the player with using merge mechanics to create units of stickmen soldiers to send into battle against armies in real-world locations. The player is the commander in a war that's seemingly without end. They must use their available budget to buy troops and combine units to create even more powerful soldiers and heavy equipment that can handle clashing with the enemy's forces. They also use their money to unlock special spaces that allow them to place more units and expand their army.
The player fights with troops and rifles, bazookas, tanks, helicopters and more in dangerous jungles, equipment-laden docks, dusty deserts, ice-covered snowscapes and other environments. They also bomb the enemy with missile air strikes. If desired, they can earn units, claim more money and upgrade soldiers by watching advertisements.
The game provides the player with daily orders that outline specific tasks they must complete, such as capturing a zone or defeating a boss. Before a battle, they merge pairs of the same types of troops and equipment.
Epic Army Clash highlights areas the player conquered in light blue on a world map. It highlights enemy areas in red with white labels. A skull marks a boss zone. A tower marks an enemy's final base.
