Epic Road Idle is an easy-to-play semi-idle career-simulation game. The player learns about road construction by directing a blue stickman character wearing a yellow hard hat through various types of actions to install an asphalt road between pre-mapped blocks in a town on an island surrounded by water. The townspeople need the road to reach businesses, residential areas, parks and a playground.
With the help of a green floating arrowhead, the player directs their avatar toward dirt sections of the future road and pieces of equipment near it that can help them complete each task. They might need to make the stickman pick up asphalt from a machine with a wheelbarrow and dump the pieces in a dirt work area. A floating green progress bar notifies them when they need to stop. Then, they direct the character to smooth out the asphalt with a manual tool.�
When the player completes a section of road or performs other actions, they direct their avatar to pick up floating cash that appears to add the money to their bank balance. They use the cash to reveal hidden pieces of road construction equipment and new tasks.
Epic Road Idle allows the player to eventually invest in two road crew assistants. They can also perform skill upgrades, such as increasing character carrying capacity and truck and roller speeds.
