Emoji Pop is a bubble shooter that features emojis instead of traditional bubbles. The player uses a cannon to shoot emoji projectiles at connected emojis along the top of the playfield. Their ultimate goal is to help an emoji with heart eyes escape each level. They don't need to remove every emoji from the field. They merely need to remove the different types of emoji that surround the one with heart eyes.
The player removes emojis by shooting a projectile at two or more identical, connected ones to form a line of at least three. For example, they might shoot a red anger emoji at two other connected identical emojis. When the emoji bubbles disappear, they use the next projectile. The game displays the next one as a tiny icon below the cannon. It also displays the available number of projectiles to the left of the cannon. If the player doesn't complete a level before these bubbles disappear, new emoji appear randomly on the field.
Emoji Pop forces the player to start over if they allow any emojis to appear below a horizontal peach-colored line that cross the field above the cannon or pause the game to visit the home screen.
