Cute Bubble Shooter, a bubble-popping game, tasks a player to help a red sun marked with orange-yellow bubbles escape from a field of rows of colorful, mixed bubbles that contain anthropomorphic faces and a variety of objects. The player can only remove the bubbles around the sun by creating connected lines of three or more bubbles with projectile bubbles shot from a black cannon shooter floating in the sky at the bottom-center of the screen above a gradient blue and white cityscape background.
The player doesn't need to clear every bubble from the field to win a level. They merely need to free the sun and earn points for their efforts. Their secondary goal in each level is to earn points by popping the bubbles. Their tertiary goal is to not allow the bubbles to slide or build up below a red horizontal line above the cannon.
Cute Bubble Shooter requires the player to make every shot count. It gives the player five free passes, displayed as yellow bubbles to the left of the shooter. If they can't make a line, they lose one of these bubbles, and the spot turns gray. After they lose all five, the game randomly adds additional bubbles to the field and in any gaps around the sun. It also resets the passes. The player can make fewer bad shots by strategically planning with a tiny preview of the next projectile directly below the cannon.
The player tracks the number of suns they help escape at the upper-left corner of the screen. They track their score at the upper-right corner.
