Bubble Mania Pirates is a straightforward bubble-shooting game with simple play across 30 levels that feature a high-seas and island-adventure theme. The player's only goal is to pop as many bubbles as necessary to collect a certain number of gold coins per level.
The player must shoot a projectile bubble at two or more bubbles of the same color to remove bubbles from the playfield and reach the coins. They receive a limited number of projectiles every level. Like many similar games, they use a dotted targeting line and ring shooter loaded with two projectiles. They can swap the first projectile with the second one at any time to make the best match. When they shoot accurately, they pop the matching bubbles. They also release any bubbles and unpoppable barrels and rocks beneath them into water barrels at the bottom of the field to generate additional points. When the player wins a level, they receive points and up to three golden stars.
Bubble Mania Pirates offers several additional fun ways to pop bubbles. The player can shoot through frosted bubbles. The game also features boosters. That said, it doesn't require that the player purchase any powerups. Instead, it distributes the boosters throughout each level, and the player collects the powerful tools when popping bubbles. The boosters include rainbow bubbles that match any bubble color, bombs bubbles that explode nearby bubbles, lightning bubbles that wipe out a horizontal line of bubbles and key bubbles that unlock chains wrapped around bubbles.
