Bloxorz is a block-flipping game in the logic-puzzle category that tests a player's common sense, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Since 2007, it has engaged gamers and math lovers alike with its 33 complex stages.
The player attempts to help a mottled red-and-gray rectangular brick flip and roll along a path of stone pavers to reach a square exit hole. To make the brick slide through the hole, they need to stand it upright on top of the empty spot. If they allow the brick to flip or roll off the pavers, they must restart the stage. They must also restart if they allow it to stand upright on fragile orange pavers.
In some stages, the player directs the brick to touch switches that control the formation of bridges in gap areas between pavers. With O switches, also known as soft switches, any part of the brick works to apply enough force. With X switches, also known as heavy switches, the player must stand it upright on the switch.
Bloxorz also features a special teleportation switch. With ( ) switches, the game teleports the brick to a new area and splits it into two smaller blocks. These blocks work independently based on the player's selections. That said, the pieces are useless for using X switches or ending a stage. To reform the brick, the player merely needs to position the blocks next to each other.
Every stage offers a save-point passcode at the top-left corner of the screen. If the player needs to stop playing, they can later use it to revisit their last stage.
