Ball Drop is a hypercasual physics-based logic-puzzle game. Across 32 levels, the player's goal is to direct a ball safely to a holding container at the bottom of the playfield.
Against a gradient-colored background, the ball rests in a starting position at the top of the field atop a breakable platform. The player interacts with the screen to make the ball drop through the platform and roll along stationary and tilting paddle-style platforms.
To help the ball reach the container, the player must make it jump whenever faced with an obstacle, such as a spike or a long gap between platforms or a platform and the container. If the ball hits an obstacle or drops to the bottom of the field, it bursts into smaller balls that then disappear from the screen.
Ball Drop makes gameplay extremely difficult by creating scenarios in which the player needs perfect timing to make the ball jump at precisely the right moment. If they fail to gauge distances correctly, for example, they must retry the obstacle course. That said, the game also allows the player to replay repeatedly without any type of penalty.
If the player considers a level too difficult, they can also unlock the next level without finishing it. They merely need to watch an advertising video by selecting the Skip button at the lower-right corner.
