2020 Connect Deluxe is a tile-merging game that's similar to 2048. It tasks a player with merging numbered hex tiles on a gray-and-white honeycomb grid on a white background. It is a skill game that requires the player to coordinate the movement of tiles in one area of the grid to empty free cells or spaces next to matching tiles in a different area to create higher value tiles.
Unlike match-3, merge tile games, the player must match four tiles to merge them. Additionally, there is no shooting element. The player merely needs to select a tile and place it correctly on the grid next to a matching tile and continue the process until they've connected four or more matching tiles.
That said, 2020 Connect Deluxe randomly inserts new tiles throughout the grid, which reduces the number of available empty space. It also doesn't permit movement of tiles through the white background or along rows blocked by other numbered tiles. Of course, like many match-3 games, this game offers helpful boosters that the player can buy to make merges easier with the coins they earn from correctly merging tiles.
If the player does extremely well, they receive a gift that they can unpack by watching an advertisement. Their ultimate goal is to try to merge all tiles until they reach an 8192 end result.
