Word Detector is a relaxing word puzzle game with a wood-related theme. Across 100 levels, the player receives three or more wooden tiles on an oval spot covered with green baize to the right of a wooden tray with empty spaces for word letters. The playfield is a table made of wood boards bordered with dark red theater curtains. The player forms simple words of two or more letters on the tray using only the available tiles.
The player forms the words by drawing a white line between the tiles. For example, if they receive the letters A, M and R, they might form the words "ARM," "RAM" and "AM." Every time the player wins a level, they receive 10 golden coins. During play, they can then use the coins (30 coins per request) to prompt the game to provide a word hint by placing one tile on the tray.
Word Detector allows the player to cross the white line when forming a word. It doesn't allow proper names. When the player wins, they receive a large pink checkmark on top of a banner with colorful balloons, pennants and a string of flags.
