Solitaire Mahjong Classic 2 is a timed tile-matching game based on the classic game of Chinese Mahjong. The player removes pairs of matching tiles from a tabletop decorated with a green plant design to earn points and unlock new puzzles.
The game arranges the first pattern of tiles in a random, layered pattern. The player can only select and remove uncovered matching tiles that have at least one free or unattached left or right side. They receive eight minutes to complete the task. They receive 100 points for each pair. The tiles feature classic markings, including red and blue bamboo, dragons, flowers, seasons and stones.
The player can track their time next to an hourglass icon near the upper-left area of the table. They can also monitor the number of potential matches available, the number of completed matches, and the number of points along the top of the table.
Solitaire Mahjong Classic 2 provides the player eventually with hint, undo and shuffle buttons to help them clear the table faster. It also offers a button that shows every matching tile by highlighting the tiles with flashing yellow edges.
When the player wins a game, they receive their current score and, once they've played more than one level, their all-time highest score. They can then continue to allow the game to randomly select a pattern or select an unlocked one.
