Domino Frenzy is a ball game similar to billiards, bowling and pinball. The player uses a ball to knock down standing domino tiles arranged in patterns on a dark gray table that features a light blue rail on three sides.
The player starts with a striped beach ball. They can't kick or tap the ball with a cursor. Instead, they strike it using a blue targeting rod with a round handle that appears when the player interacts with the ball. Each level contains one or more floating purple crystals in addition to the dominoes. The player must strike the crystals with the ball or tiles while dealing with a wide range of obstacles, including bombs, stationary and sliding barriers, and hidden cylindrical columns that rise up out of the table intermittently.
When the player does well, the colors on the backs of the fallen dominoes create a piece of artwork, such as a dog head, a sakura, fireworks, a flower or an elephant. Static cheering anthropomorphic dominoes also appear on the screen with a red banner above their heads that announces the title of the artwork.
Domino Frenzy displays the number of crystals the player has won below the banner and happy dominoes. The player uses this currency to purchase other balls from a shop via a ball button near the upper left side of the main screen.
