Letter Chain: Word Merge! is a merge game similar to 2048 and Suika games. The player's goal is to form words and complete other tasks by merging a limited number of balloon letters from the English alphabet on round-cornered, walled playfields.
On the lower part of a field, the player attempts to position a balloon letter to make it float to a specific spot along the top of the field. They align a letter with its match to attempt to merge the two letters to create the next letter in a standard alphabet. For example, they create an O balloon when they merge two N balloons. The game provides them with a wide targeting beam to make accurate shots. To help them form a release strategy, it also displays a preview of the next letter in a gray holder.
The game supplies obstacles that make merging harder, such as breakable crates, shapes and walls. To perform accurate merges, the player must anticipate where each lightweight, squishy balloon letter might float or glide when released. If they want to break obstacles, they can use the force of a merge like an explosive. They merely need to direct the balloons to merge near an obstacle. That said, the player can also accidentally destroy nearby balloon letters this way.
Letter Chain: Word Merge! often prompts the player to complete a section of the game by completing a phrase. Each merge game represents one or more words from the phrase.
The player can run out of moves quickly. The only way for them to acquire more letters is by watching ad videos. If the player doesn't want to watch a video, they can also restart a level.
